Incredible friends, cherished family, and steadfast supporters,

I am thrilled to announce my participation and won a medal in the just concluded TATA STEEL KOLKATA 25K 2023 Marathon, in the Ananda Run Category for a cause close to my heart—Swayam, an NGO that has worked tirelessly for over 28 years to empower women, champion their rights, and end violence against them. Swayam not only provides holistic support services to survivors and their children but works to end violence through awareness campaigns, action research, publications, training initiatives, and advocacy for women-related laws and policies.

I am reaching out to each one of you with an earnest appeal. I need your support, your encouragement, and yes, your generosity to support Swayam's work.Your donation, no matter the size, will contribute to creating a world where every woman can walk freely, unburdened by fear. As I laced up my shoes and represented you in the marathon, let's join hands together for empowerment and a violence-free world for all women.

RAISING FUNDS FOR

SWAYAM

SWAYAM is a Kolkata based women’s organisation working towards redressing and preventing discrimination and violence against women and girls, and as well as for women’s empowerment. It was established and registered as a Public Charitable Trust in Kolkata, India in 1995.

SWAYAM literally means ‘oneself’ and was set up to provide a holistic support service to women facing violence in their lives. On one hand SWAYAM facilitates the empowerment of women survivors of violence, their children and families. On the other hand, it generates discussion, debate and action in society to challenge social norms, values and systems that deem discrimination and violence against women and girls acceptable.
Swayam is working across three support centres located at Deodar Street & Metiabruz in Kolkata and at Diamond Harbour in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India.

ABOUT ME

I am a social worker and a nature lover and a true believer of equality. I have dedicated myself to work for mankind. I have been working with Swayam, a Kolkata based non-profit feminist, women’s rights organization, committed to ending violence against women. We work towards establishing the rights of women and children to live a life free from inequality, violence and fear. I have been working with Swayam for the last 2 years as a HR & Admin Officer.
